Living by the beach is a dream for many, but it can be tough on buildings. For the Sea Crest Condos in Hilton Head, South Carolina, it meant their roof had been battling the salty air for 20 years. The condominium complex needed a new roof, and the owners wanted something that could handle the harsh ocean environment.
Finding the Perfect Roof
The Sea Crest condominium owners were introduced to Tedlar® PVF film, a special kind of superhero for metal roofs. It’s a thin, colored shield that sticks to the metal and protects it from the sun’s harsh rays, salt spray, and anything else Mother Nature throws its way.

Roof Makeover Begins
Our team of roofing experts at Construction Metal Products (CMP) partnered with Roofing Professionals Inc. (RPI) to install the Tedlar-protected roof system for Sea Crest Condos. The project utilized CMP’s Series 2500 aluminum panels, measuring 18 inches wide and fabricated with .040 aluminum for superior strength. Finished in a sleek granite gray Tedlar film, the panels offered both aesthetic appeal and unmatched protection.
RPI’s experienced crew meticulously replaced the existing roof in sections, ensuring a watertight and structurally sound installation throughout the entire process. The team’s dedication to quality and attention to detail ensured the Sea Crest Condos received a roof they could confidently rely on for years to come.
Beachfront Beauty Restored
The newly installed Tedlar roof not only boasts exceptional resilience but also delivers a visually stunning aesthetic. Delighted with the project’s outcome, the condominium owners expressed their intention to utilize Tedlar panels for the remaining buildings in the complex.
